The Met. Council’s proposed new direction for regional transportation policy wisely moves us away from highway expansion. Bicycling and walking are also part of our region’s transportation system, and should be addressed with more clarity and specificity in the Council’s 2030 Transportation Policy Plan. Transit for Livable Communities, Active Living Ramsey Communities and the Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition have asked the Met Council to specifically plan for more biking and walking in its 2030 Transportation Policy Plan. By sending in comments, you will ensure that the Met. Council knows that you want them to lead and to ensure that bicycling and walking get greater attention and investment.
