The Watchdog: Paul Busch
"As long as I can remember, I have been passionate about helping to empower people. My yoga teaching and political work are both avenues for this. I feel called to help make the world better, and there is no better place to start than right here in my own back yard. I also love doing research and I love solving mysteries, so working as a watchdog is a perfect fit for me.
"While I have supported numerous causes all of my adult life, my political activism increased dramatically in 2004, when I worked on the Dennis Kucinich Presidential Campaign. The next year, I dove into the Elizabeth Dickinson for Mayor Campaign. This campaign brought me to the Green Party and to local politics, and I was strongly drawn to both. In 2006 I had the opportunity to manage Jesse Mortenson’s campaign for the MN House, giving me much more campaigning experience and valuable organizing experience. These were all excellent campaigns, and I am very happy to have participated in them. In January of 2007 I became a co-chair of Neighborhoods First!, a grassroots organization that promotes sustainable policies for St. Paul neighborhoods. I am currently the chair. In February of 2007 I was invited to join the executive committee for the St. Paul Better Ballot Campaign, which successfully worked to bring Instant Runoff Voting to St. Paul. I am excited to work with citizens to improve the quality of life here in the Twin Cities."
Paul Busch was hired to act as the Watchdog in December 2009.
